TWU funds the transport of a truckload of donations to Cobargo Bushfire Relief Centre

The NSW Transport Workers’ Union are proud to be able to offer a contribution to support a bushfire affected community in NSW.

Richard Olsen, NSW State Secretary said, “Today a truckload of warm clothing, blankets and household items, donated by the community surrounding the South Turramurra Uniting Church, are being transported to the Cobargo Bushfire Relief Centre.”

The NSW TWU has covered the costs of the costs of the journey of the Truck, provided by the Central Coast Community Shed.

“We know the Cobargo Community has faced circumstances they should not have to bear. The recent fire season has shown us the commitment and bravery of local communities,” Mr Olsen said.

The TWU also acknowledges the firefighters and other first responders that stepped up to take on the fires, we also know that many Transport Workers from all backgrounds banded together to take relief and supplies in to fire zones.

The TWU and Unions across NSW stand behind our bushfire affected communities and we hope that our small contribution today goes a long way towards the rebuilding of resilient local area.
