FEDEX MEMBERS WALK-OUT: WORKERS HAD ENOUGH OF UNFAIR DEAL

TWU Delegates from across Transport join action in solidarity

Late last month, Delegates from across road and aviation took action in solidarity with members from FedEx, who were taking part in a protected stoppage while their employer attempted to yet again brute-force a poor agreement through.

FedEx workers from yards across NSW were met by the cheers and solidarity from Union Delegates, who were waiting from them out the front of multiple yards to support their fight for job security.

Among the workers that NSW and National leadership met with was the Delegate who won this year’s conference’s Delegate of the year, Glenn Daniel.

Glenn has been a staunch advocate for his fellow workers for many years, and has taken a stand in this fight as well.

FedEx’s unwillingness to meet on matters of job security stood-out out as other major companies, including Linfox, BevChain, Team Global Express and Toll had in-principle agreements prior to the NSW Delegates conference.

If other transport companies could understand that members’ claims are reasonable and fair, no one else has an excuse.
