This premier event, where members from road and aviation met to discuss developments in the industry, saw us hear from many important speakers across Transport, as well as from special guests such as the Premier of NSW, Chris Minns.
The 2026 Transport Workers’ Union Delegates Conference was a resounding success. Workers from across road and aviation stood together, reflected on the many years of wins it’s taken us to get to this historic point and stood determined to see out the remainder of the year.
Across several panels and in the remarks from our conference speakers, Delegates reflected on the years of effort it took to align over 200 Enterprise Agreements, and also listened to all of the wins achieved not only in 2026, but in every year so far this decade.
The conference theme this year was “Our Time is Now.” In remarks by NSW Secretary Richard Olsen, he said that the TWU’s time is now because “after decades of fragmentation, and a race to the bottom across every sector in our industry, this year is the turning point that, through the relentless effort of transport workers, will see us in prime position for 2029, 2032, and beyond – which is why it is critical that we continue to stand together coming out of this conference.
