Members, it has been a very active year so far. As you receive this journal, the Union is deep in negotiations with many employers, and we have just come out of our Majors Bargaining Round 4 (MBR4) meeting, where delegates from majors and retail companies come together to discuss the state of road transport and learn from each other.

As we get further into Winter, there will be a lot of developments with these negotiations, so stay tuned. Some employers are being more reasonable than others. It was frustrating to see FedEx for example walk away from negotiations with your member-led committee, and cancel joint report-backs with the TWU. We believe that workers deserve a better deal.
This year, I’ve been proud to stand side-by-side with many of you at actions against Aldi, Swissport, and Amazon. I’m also looking forward to seeing many of you at next month’s Delegates conference.
The fight to set better sector standards and win better pay and conditions in transport is ongoing. Our Sub-branch is proud to stand with you. In 2026, our time is now.
