HISTORIC VICTORY BY WASTE WORKERS!

The Full Bench of the Fair Work Commission published the Erskine Park workplace determination decision this afternoon. This decision protects and enshrines many workplace rights and customs of the Erskine Park depot that Cleanaway has tried to undermine in the last 20 months of bargaining.

Thanks to you, we:

  • Stopped Cleanaway from forcing workers to work weekends.
  • Maintained overtime rates for all work performed on weekends.
  • Have secured thousands of dollars in backpay for workers.
  • Achieved a 15% increase from 1 September 2022- 1 September 2024.
  • Achieved 23% over life of agreement til 30 June 2027.

This is the first intractable bargaining workplace determination in Australia and what a result it is.
