TWU Enews

Check out this week’s TWU E-News: SURVEYS UNDERWAY, COMMUNITY BBQ WITH NSW TREASURER

Tomorrow staunch TWU ally Donna Davis MP will be hosting a community BBQ in Parramatta with longtime TWU Stalwart, NSW Treasurer Daniel Mookhey MLC. More details are further below.

Members, last week we announced loud and clear to Australia that the 2026 Campaign – Our Roads, Our Skies, Our Future – is well and truly underway.

With over 200 Enterprise Agreements aligned for this 2026, we’ve spent the last year putting employers on notice that Transport Workers expect fair pay, conditions, and secure employment

Late last year, many of you would have completed bargaining surveys to help inform your positions for this year.

Many more are also completing theirs this week, including the below workers from TSA Smeaton Grange, who are sending the message loud and clear that they deserve better sector standards.

By standing together across roads and aviation this year, we can make progress on the road to respect and achieve a better Transport Industry. Our historic efforts and victories of the last few years have led us to this moment, and by fighting together – we WILL WIN!

In unity,
Richard Olsen
TWU NSW Secretary

COMMUNITY BBQ WITH STAUNCH TWU ALLIES

Tomorrow, NSW MP Donna Davis will be hosting a BBQ to hear from community members and NSW workers about what matters to them.

Donna has announced that her special guest for this Saturday’s community BBQ at Parramatta park: NSW Treasurer Daniel Mookhey.

Mookhey’s involvement with the TWU goes back a quarter-century, and he has recently played a critical role in getting important Transport Reform through the NSW Parliament.

In November, the Treasurer joined the TWU’s Bus Industry Roundtable and heard first-hand from members about their experiences at work as we head into 2026.

Likewise, Donna has always been a staunch ally Transport Workers’ Union. Since being elected in 2023, Donna has worked with the union to help achieve the following:

For Bus Drivers, she fought with us for the new permanent rest facilities for bus drivers in Parramatta.

For Owner Drivers and Gig Workers, she joined our efforts to reform Chapter 6 of the Industrial Relations Act to remove archaic exclusions for owner drivers, recognise gig workers in the act for the first time, and bring the law into the 21st century.

For Waste Workers, she helped ensure that our new Waste Regulations were put into effect.

If you’re available, this BBQ is an opportunity to grab a bite to eat and share what matters to you at work and in your community with a member of Parliament.
