Late last year, you may have seen us talk about our then-upcoming 2026 campaign in this weekly publication, on our Facebook (facebook.com/twunsw) or our Instagram (@twunsw). Now, 2026 is here. This year, Transport Workers have aligned over 200 Enterprise Agreements to expire, so we can take action together across road transport and aviation, fight together to lift everyone’s pay and conditions and set better sector standards. This year, we will continue to make clients pay. Last year was an incredibly successful year for our membership. We achieved landmark transport reform in the NSW Parliament, following our success on the federal level, we stood up to major corporations and won concessions, and we achieved the ultimate victory against Qantas with the biggest penalty of its kind in Australian industrial relations history, finally closing the book on the Alan Joyce saga. Now that we head further into 2026, it’s time to move on from that success and look towards the mammoth fight at our feet. We are a forward-looking union, one that has never rested on its laurels or been happy with any one victory. We are here to fight for you, with you, and against those that want to take advantage of working Australians. Already in these first few weeks of 2026, we’ve been back out at yards and continuing to work with our members as usual. As the big events of this year draw near, we will stand with you to achieve better standards in this industry. More information on the fight for Our Roads, Our Skies and Our Futures is below. 2026 Is Here – Let’s Hit the Ground Running for Our Roads, Our Skies, Our Futures
Welcome to 2026!
This is the year we stand together like never before to lift sector standards and win better pay, job security, and safer conditions for all transport workers.
With over 200 agreements expiring at once, 2026 is our moment – real change depends on every yard being organised, every member active, and all of us hitting the ground running together.
Here’s what’s next:
- Claim Endorsement: Make sure you and your workmates have endorsed the claim for your site.
- Mass Meetings: Join upcoming meetings to discuss the plan, share updates, and get ready for potential action.
- Get Involved: Volunteer to be an activist, help sign up new members, or run a yard meeting. Every action builds our power.
