TWU Enews

Check out this week’s TWU NSW Enews: Govt Must Fix Central Coast Community Transport, ALDI Preston Vote No & Big Win For Ampol Workers. Plus social media highlights.

Government Must Fix Central Coast Community Transport.

Dozens of former Community Transport Central Coast (CTCC) drivers and clients rallied yesterday outside Minister for the Central Coast David Harris’ office, demanding the NSW Government address the collapse of this vital service.

Since CTCC’s closure last month, cancer patients and others with serious medical conditions have been left without crucial transport.

Since then, the government-appointed interim provider Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Community Transport has failed to run a fair hiring process and instead selected only a few drivers from more than 40.

HKCT is also struggling to meet user needs, leaving many without transport to essential medical appointments, forcing families to pay for taxis.

We are demanding Minister Harris hold HKCT accountable and ensure reliable, accessible community transport is resumed for all.

Aldi Prestons Vote NO!

TWU members at Aldi Prestons are standing strong and voting NO on the company’s latest enterprise agreement.

Despite Aldi telling the TWU and SDA that worker health and safety is a priority, they’ve FAILED to back it up by listening to workers and included nothing which improve these conditions.

This proposed agreement is a BAD DEAL, and workers are sending a clear message by rejecting it!

Big Win For Ampol Aviation Workers!

After 8 months of negotiations and protected industrial action, TWU members at Ampol Aviation have secured an incredible 28 percent pay rise, more permanent full-time positions and stronger job security.

This achievement is a testament to the power of collective bargaining. Our members fought for fair wages and job security, and together we’ve delivered.

This is a big step forward, but there’s more to do. Let’s keep fighting for a Safe and Secure Skies Commission to protect workers across the industry!
