| Earlier this week, Cash-In-Transit workers from Armaguard and Prosegur voted overwhelmingly in favour of their Protected Action Ballot, with a 97 per cent YES vote. The TWU and CIT workers have been consistent: It’s time for the clients – the big banks and retailers – to step-up and take responsibility for the long term viability of this sector. We back our members to take whatever steps are necessary to get a fair deal. ZircoDATA workers also took protected action this week in pursuit of a fair deal, more on this below. |

| Across the industry, transport workers are looking Towards ’26 and taking the initiative to ensure they get the conditions they deserve. This week, Virgin was issued with two Provisional Improvement Notices by TWU Health & Safety Representatives to enforce these standards (more below). It is the membership that makes our union strong. We stand with you, and when we fight, we win! |

Sydney Pit Crew Hold Virgin to Account
Two Transport Workers’ Union Health & Safety Representatives (HSRs) issued Virgin with two Provisional Improvement Notices (PINs) this week, over inadequate consultation on new work arrangements that led to serious concerns around manning levels and controls.
By taking the initiative, the Sydney pit crew have sent a clear message to Virgin that if they want to improve standards in the industry, they need to put the health and wellbeing of their workers first.
State Secretary Richard Olsen said,
“Well done to these HSRs for stepping-up. It is always a big step holding an employer to account, particularly one as large as Virgin.
“It’s a timely reminder that aviation is an industry that is still in need of serious reform, and that consultation is imperative to stopping the race to the bottom.”

ZircoDATA Members Take Protected Action
On Thursday, ZircoDATA workers in Erskine Park took Protected Action after receiving a substandard offer from the company.
Zirco workers made it loud and clear that in a cost-of-living crisis, workers deserve a fair deal for their labour. ZircoDATA needs to get serious about the offer it’s giving to workers, and engage in good faith to honour that deal.
