TWU Enews

Check out this week’s TWU E-News: Continuing to Build on Our 2025 Wins

TWU Officials were out in yards across NSW once again this week, helping members not only prepare for 2026, but deal with the fights they’re facing now.

We’ve achieved a great deal in 2025 so far. I’m looking forward to celebrating what we’ve done together this year at our upcoming delegates conference.

It’s worth remembering just how much we’ve achieved this year. We’ve brought through major reform for owner drivers and gig workers in NSW Parliament, we’ve won better pay and conditions for workers at our majors, in waste, in aviation, and much more.

We’ve seen many members benefit from wins under the Same Job, Same Pay legislation and federal transport reform that we not only fought relentlessly to enact at the federal level, but are now protected following the election in May.

For those of you joining us at the delegates conference, I look forward to seeing you there as we head Towards ’26. To everyone else, we look forward to seeing you at yards, here in Minchinbury and across our NSW Sub-branches, as we fight to win better pay and conditions and set better sector standards.

Another Active Week at Yards

This week, TWU officials were out in yards across the transport industry talking to members about the fight for 2026, helping with delegate elections, and more.

The TWU is continuing to support TGE Bungarribee workers after their victory last week following their action.

The union also had meetings with CIT Armaguard/Prosegur Yard members, to discuss BDA improvements and discuss ways to continue holding clients accountable.

State Secretary Richard Olsen says,

“Across NSW, elected delegates and officials are making sure to spend time with members and fighting for them. We never rest, and with a busy few weeks, months, and year ahead, we’re not slowing down anytime soon.”
