This week, TWU Officials joined with members at Linfox Bega Chullora as they stand for a fairer workplace. More on this is further below. Today, the Transport Workers’ Union submitted a historic bid to the Fair Work Commission to transform cabin crew standards. Built on extensive consultation with TWU members, the application put in today aims to substantially improve the pay, classifications, duty hours, rights, and annual leave of these workers. The TWU values better standards for all aviation workers. For too long, cabin crew work has been undervalued – as employers use their ever-changing responsibilities as an excuse to not treat their workers with the respect they deserve. The industry must catch up to reflect the value of their work. This same week, we’ve also fought back against Boral’s unfair treatment of owner-drivers, fighting back in the FWC using new transport reform legislation in the to hold big building clients accountable. This is another example of a real union win in parliament being used in the real world to fight for transport workers. Whether in yards or in court, in roads or in the skies, the TWU will stand with members as we undertake our biggest campaign ever to improve sector standards in 2026.
