TWU Enews

Check out this week’s TWU E-News: Huge Win for Certis Workers

Today, Members from Certis Security achieved a huge win, retaining their security contracts at Sydney Airport under a new five contract.

This follows months of effort from members and delegates to ensure a good outcome from the airport corporation, including notably in October when TWU Members and Officials from across the airport and transport industry stood together at an airport action to call for job security for those at Certis.

The contract retention means hundreds of jobs at Certis will be saved. The TWU will soon turn to enterprise bargaining.

Congratulations to all members and Certis Delegates who stood by their fellow workers to secure this outcome.
This also follows the TWU delegation to Canberra just a week ago, where TWU Certis Delegate Wendy spoke about her experiences in the industry.

Also this week, we welcomed many members through our doors for Delegate 1 and Delegate 2 training. The 2026 training calendar is well-and-truly underway, and it’s been great to see so many of you this week.

Our Delegates play a huge role in ensuring our movement is member-led and that campaigns such as this years’ are a success.

Across the union, we’re already seeing countless members endorse their claims and move forward together this week. It is this solidarity and relentless effort that will see us succeed.

In unity,

Richard Olsen

TWU NSW Secretary
